Samay Raina Career Journey

After performing at multiple open mics since August 27, 2017, Raina began opening for well-known comedians like Anirban Dasgupta and Abhishek Upmanyu in Pune. As he gained recognition, he moved to Mumbai to pursue stand-up comedy and performed successful shows in various cities.

Raina joined Comicstaan 2 and ended up winning the show along with Gupta, which was released on Amazon Prime Video. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Raina started streaming chess games on YouTube, encouraged by comedian Tanmay Bhat.

His viewership grew significantly when he invited YouTuber Antonio Radić (Agadmator) and later Indian GM Vidit Gujrathi to his channel. Raina’s collaboration with Gujrathi and other top chess players like Viswanathan Anand, Anish Giri, and Magnus Carlsen helped popularize chess in India.
