Janhvi Kapoor began her acting career in 2018 with the romance film “Dhadak,” directed by Shashank Khaitan and co-starring Ishaan Khatter. The movie was a Hindi remake of the 2016 Marathi film “Sairat,” which tells the story of a rich girl who elopes with a poorer boy. Though critics gave “Dhadak” mostly negative reviews, it was a commercial hit, earning ₹1.1 billion worldwide.
