Tim Walz is an American politician, former U.S. Army non-commissioned officer, and retired educator. He has been the governor of Minnesota since 2019 and is a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party. In 2006, Walz was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Minnesota’s 1st congressional district. He was reelected five times before becoming governor in 2019. Tim Walz Education
Tim Walz graduated from Butte High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in social science education from Chadron State College in 1989. He started teaching at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, then taught in China with WorldTeach. In 2001, he completed a Master’s in educational leadership from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Walz joined the Army National Guard in 1981 and served 24 years, with postings in various locations including Arkansas, Texas, the Arctic Circle, and Minnesota. Some major reforms of Tim Walz during his tenure
