Manu Bhaker is an Indian Olympic shooter who won two bronze medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She earned the first medal in the women’s 10-meter air pistol event and became the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympic medal. Then, she teamed up with Sarabjot Singh to win another bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed event, which made her the first Indian woman to win two medals at a single Olympics and the first Indian to achieve this in 124 years. With her father’s investment of ₹1,50,000, Bhaker started competitive shooting. She first succeeded internationally by winning a silver medal at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships. At the 2017 National Games in Kerala, she won nine gold medals and broke Heena Sidhu’s record by scoring 242.3 points.

In 2018, Bhaker won gold in the Women’s 10-meter air pistol at the ISSF World Cup in Mexico, which made her the youngest Indian to win a gold medal at the World Cup. She also won gold in the 10-meter Air Pistol mixed team event with Om Prakash Mitharval.
