Justin Herbert was drafted 6th overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2020 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year contract worth $26.6 million. Herbert started the season with a throw for 311 yards and a touchdown in his first game, despite losing in overtime.
In Week 4, Justin was named the starting quarterback. He threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns against the Buccaneers. In Week 5, Herbert threw four touchdowns in a loss to the Saints, setting a record for the most touchdown passes by a rookie on Monday Night Football.
Herbert became the first rookie in NFL history to throw multiple touchdowns in seven straight games and won Offensive Rookie of the Month honors twice.
