Lakshya Sen is an International Indian badminton player and former world junior number 1. He won gold at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships in boys’ singles and at the Summer Youth Olympics in the mixed team event. Sen earned a bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships and was runner-up at the 2022 All-England Open. He was also part of the Indian team that won the 2022 Thomas Cup and secured a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Lakshya Sen Career Journey

Lakshya Sen, who trained at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, showcased his talent early and had an outstanding year in the junior badminton circuit in 2016. He won a bronze medal at the Junior Asian Championship and also competed at the Junior World Championship, where his team finished 8th. Sen began competing at the senior international level and won the men’s singles title at the 2016 India International Series tournament.

In 2017, Sen became the number one junior singles player in the BWF World Junior rankings. He participated in several tournaments, reaching the quarter-finals of the Vietnam Open and the Junior World Championship.

2018 saw Sen defeating higher-ranked players and emerging as the champion at the Asian Junior Championships. He participated in the Summer Youth Olympics, winning a silver medal in boys’ singles and helping his team win a gold medal in the mixed team event. Sen won several tournaments in 2019, including the Belgian International, Dutch Open, SaarLorLux Open, and the Scottish Open. In 2020, he was part of the Indian team that won bronze at the Badminton Asia Team Championships and reached the second round of the All-England Open.
