Nalin Prabhat is an Indian Police Service Officer of the 1992 batch of Andhra Pradesh cadre and he served as the Director General of the National Security Guard from 1 May 2024 till 15 August 2024. After that, he was appointed as Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police on 1 October 2024. The appointment comes at a time when the Kashmir Valley has been rocked by a series of terrorist encounters and violent clashes.
