Prabhat Jha was an Indian politician. He had been a member of the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh state in India. He was the Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party President from 2010 until December 2012. He was the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Jha was also the editor of BJP mouthpiece Kamal Sandesh.
Prabhat had been dealing with a prolonged illness and had been moved to Gurugram for treatment about 26 days ago and he took his last breath at around 4.20 a.m. on 26 July.

Prabhat Jha’s Career in Politics
Prabhat began his career as a journalist and he later entered politics and joined the BJP and served as the party’s Madhya Pradesh president from May 2010 to December 2012. Jha was elected to the Rajya Sabha for the first time in 2008 and for the second time in 2014.
Jha was a senior BJP leader who was sent to the Upper House of the Parliament in 2008, remained an MP till 2020, and completed two terms. He also served as the BJP’s Madhya Pradesh unit president between 2010 and 2012 and went on to become the party’s national vice president in 2013.
Jha also held various other responsibilities in the party, including the editor of its mouthpiece magazine ‘Kamal Sandesh’ in 2005 and BJP national secretary in 2007.
However, ahead of the 2013 Assembly Polls, Jha was replaced as the State unit chief by Narendra Singh Tomar, then a confidant of Mr. Chouhan’s and now the State Assembly Speaker. Jha was then accommodated in the party’s national unit as a vice-president. 2hindustantimes
