Robert Saleh is an American professional football coach who recently was the head coach of the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). Robert Saleh Career
Robert began his coaching career in 2002 at the college level, working as a defensive assistant for Michigan State, Central Michigan, and the University of Georgia. In 2005, he joined the Houston Texans as an intern and was promoted to defensive quality control coach in 2006. He later became the assistant linebackers coach in 2009.
In 2011, Saleh joined the Seattle Seahawks as a defensive quality control coach. He was part of their 2013 Super Bowl-winning team, known for the strong “Legion of Boom” defense. After Seattle, Saleh became the linebackers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014. He stayed with the team until 2016.
In 2017, Saleh was hired as the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. Under his leadership, the 49ers’ defense ranked among the best in the league during the 2019 season, and the team reached Super Bowl LIV, although they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
