Nikhat Zareen is an Indian Professional boxer who is a two-time world champion. She won a gold medal at the 2011 AIBA Women’s Youth & Junior World Boxing Championships. Nikhat Zareen Career Journey
In 2009, Nikhat joined the Sports Authority of India in Vishakhapatnam to train under Dronacharya awardee Rao. She was named the ‘golden best boxer’ at the Erode Nationals in 2010.
In 2011, Zareen won a gold medal in the flyweight division at the AIBA Women’s Junior and Youth World Boxing Championship in Turkey. In 2014, she earned a silver medal at the Youth World Boxing Championship in Bulgaria and a gold medal at the Nations Cup International Boxing Tournament in Serbia.
Zareen continued her success by winning a gold medal at the 16th Senior Woman National Boxing Championship in Assam in 2015. In 2019, Zareen won a silver medal at the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in Bangkok and a gold medal at the Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament in Bulgaria.
In 2022, Nikhat won another gold medal at the 73rd Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament in Sofia. She also won the gold medal in the 52 kg category at the Women’s World Championship in Turkey and became the fifth Indian woman to achieve this.
Zareen secured a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham by defeating Carly McNaul of Northern Ireland. In 2023, she won her second world championship gold medal at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi, defeating Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Tam.
