Kyren Williams is an American professional football running back and punt returner for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and was selected by the Rams in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft.

Kyren Williams Career Journey

Kyren was picked by the Los Angeles Rams in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, he broke his foot in June and, after missing the preseason, suffered a high ankle sprain on his first play in the season opener. He went on injured reserve but returned mid-season, finishing his rookie year with 35 carries for 139 yards and nine catches for 76 yards.

In 2023, Williams shined. He scored his first two NFL touchdowns in the season opener and soon became the Rams’ lead running back. In Week 4, he recorded his first 100-yard game with two touchdowns, and in Week 6, he rushed for a season-high 158 yards before spraining his ankle.

After a four-game absence, Williams returned in Week 12, totaling 143 rushing yards and two receiving touchdowns, earning him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. He continued this strong performance, reaching 1,000 rushing yards, becoming the first Rams player to do so since 2018.
